Blackstar launch Gus G. signature pedal HT-BLACKFIRE @ Summer NAMM!!
Blackstar are proud to announce their first artist signature product. Developed with influential guitarist Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind) the HT-BLACKFIRE is a two channel, valve-driven, metal distortion pedal and was launched at Summer NAMM in Nashville on the 18th June 2010. The two channels are named after the fan-favourite Firewind track ‘The Fire And The Fury.’ With its black finish, orange and red LEDs, black grille and Blackstar designed Gus G. logo, the HT-BLACKFIRE looks as serious as it sounds. The pedal is limited to just 1,000 pieces worldwide, each pedal includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Gus G. and an exclusive Gus trading card.

FIREWIND announce regional shows in Greece!!
FIREWIND is pleased to announce 2 special shows in Greece this summer! The dates are:
Friday, July 16th - Golden Apple Festival / Kastoria
Saturday, July 17th - 7th Rocking Under The Rocks Festival / Kalabaka
These are the first 2010 shows the band has announced as they have recently been completing work on their upcoming 6th studio album, "Days Of Defiance".

New album update & new band line-up photo revealed!
Greek melodic metallers FIREWIND are checking in at last again with good news regarding current activity as well as first details about their upcoming new studio album, which was completed throughout the last months and which will be ready to be launched worldwide via Century Media Records in the Fall of 2010.
As a first taster of great things to come, FIREWIND are currently featured on the May’s edition (Issue 205) Judas Priest tribute CD of UK’s Metal Hammer magazine, where FIREWIND present an addictive version of the classic “Breaking The Law” track and appear next to bands like Disturbed, Trigger The Bloodshed or Steelwing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the “British Steel” album. FIREWIND mastermind and current OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G. checks in as follows:
“I know it"s been a few silent months, but this time we decided to be pretty quiet about the recording process of our new album. Anyways, before we go into revealing more info, we recently did a very fun project which was to be a part of Metal Hammer UK"s Tribute CD to Judas Priest!
We actually recorded everything for that cover song in our home studios and then passed over the files to Fredrik Nordström / Studio Fredman in Sweden for the mix. This also marks our first recording with our new drummer, Michael Ehre and the end result is killer (in our humble opinion), as we got to cover one of Metal"s most classic songs: “Breaking The Law”!
As for our new album, it"s scheduled for a release sometime this Fall and the name of it is “Days Of Defiance". We"ll soon check back and reveal more info, song names, etc.”

Gus G. to guest on new Kamelot CD!

Guitar phenom Gus G (Ozzy, Firewind) has added his signature style and soloing to one of Kamelot"s new songs that will appear on the band"s upcoming CD.
We asked Gus G. and Kamelot"s Thomas Youngblood about the collaboration!
"Gus and I have been talking about working together for a few years now, I first met Gus when Dream Evil played with us on the Japanese Tour in a few years back. Since then Gus" band Firewind has toured with us in Europe and Japan and we have become great friends. I have always thought Gus" style was very special and very unique, its really great to have him on the new album!" states Thomas
Gus G. adds" "Kamelot is a very unique band with a sound of their own and I"ve always liked them. To be invited to play on their new album is an honor and jamming on their track was a lot of fun. During the time our bands toured Japan and all over Europe together, Thomas and I became good friends. I have great memories from being on the road with the guys and I"m glad I contributed to their new album."

R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio
Firewind guitarist / mainman Gus G. has issued the following statement on behalf of the band:
"On the night of May 16th, I was shocked to read the news. Ronnie James Dio, a true Rock giant is no longer with us. Our condolences go out to his family and close ones and our thoughts are with you.
His music with DIO, Black Sabbath and Rainbow has had a huge impact on me and Firewind’s sound. One of the bands I used to play in also got its name from one of his songs – that was Dream Evil.
While I never had the chance to meet him, Firewind played a festival with Heaven & Hell in 2009 and I got to see him perform. No doubt, it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and I was amazed by his energy and how spot-on all his notes were.
His music will continue to inspire and his legacy will live on forever.
